Lots of progress made the last couple weeks. We had a few more scorching hot days, one reaching about 100'. Travis traveled to North Carolina for a work trip and decided to stay a few days after his classes finished and meet up with his parents to do the Blue Ridge Parkway in the RV with his parents.
I will have him make a post with some pictures from his trip later. While he was gone I was busy painting trim boards for Jean and shopping for doors.
Jean and his helpers got the garage all closed in last week.
This past weekend Mom and Dad came down to help me do the Electrical. We ran wire and hooked up the box, receptacles, lights, and switches for the first floor.
Monday we woke up to a monsoon. The concrete was supposed to get poured early on Monday AM. Jean and some helpers showed up very early to make sure the roof was water tight. They were out there is the pouring rain putting down water shield. They tried to cancel the concrete that morning but they had already had the truck ready to go. When the truck got here about 7am it was still raining hard. While the guys were all talking in front of the garage Jean looked down to the end of the driveway where the concrete truck was and noticed there was water sloshing out the back of the truck. Turned out that the reserve water tank had malfunctioned and dumped 300gals of water into the concrete. Ended up being a blessing since the rain persisted hard all day. They rescheduled for today and the floor went in this AM.
While the concrete guy worked on the floor Jean and his crew worked on the roof. The shingles and metal roofing all went up today. The breezeway roofing is all that is left.
